A Look Back at Something to Look Forward To | ModNats 2019

In a world of uncertainty and canceled events, it’s nice to look back at a race that weekend from a few months back and look forward to the future. Mod Nationals 2019 was an amazing event, even though it kicked off with a rainy start. It was a gathering of like-minded Ford fanatics, fast cars, and some of the best vendors the aftermarket has to offer.

So what makes Mod Nats different? First, it feels like a much tighter group of racers. There’s a very real sense of comradery in the pits. We saw more than one racer helping a competitor fix his broken car to get back out on the track. You really don’t see that everywhere. The payouts for winning a class also tends to be higher at ModNats than we typically see elsewhere. Running a lean operation allows the organizers to reinvest a large portion of the proceeds back into the racer’s purse. Click Here to Continue Reading...

It looks like Whipple is going to be leading the way into the brave new world modern Ford Big-Inch Performance.

We have an exclusive first look at some early renderings of Whipple’s 3.0L Gen V Supercharger head unit for the 7.3L As usual, Whipple has provided us with several examples of the color options that will be available... Click Here to Continue Reading...
World Ending Soon? | Time to Bolt a Carburetor on your Cobra

Anyone looking to ditch the fuel injection system on their C-Head 4.6L Mod Motor? Since we're getting knee deep in Corona Virus panic mode, it might be time to start thinking simple. While looking through Craig’s List for interesting projects I stumbled upon some odd engine parts. It seems that someone really loved their carburetors, because they built two different carb’d induction systems for the Teksid blocked Lincoln Mark VIII or 1996-98 SVT Cobra Mustangs.

The first is a pretty simple design. It just ditches the top intake hat and replaces it with a bolt on plate featuring what appears to be a flange for a Holley 4-Barrel Carb. Simple, but it should work. I’d be interested to see how well it works with the factory IMRC plates. Click Here to Continue Reading...
