Hey guys! My plan is to do another round of mods very soon. I currently have Van's 13-6 kit with a 2.4" pulley. I plan on adding a set of American Racing headers with the O/R H. I am debating either doing 3.73's or a 10% lower. I know the 10% + 2.4" upper would be right on the top of the 93 octane limit. The O/R headers should bring the actual PSI back down within limits from what I have been told. This car has been my daily driver...but it isn't any more. So it will be just a pleasure toy that I want to be a beast. What would you do? 10% lower or 3.73's? Scott:beer:
I don't have a 2.4 upper but I got a 13-6 kit with the 10% ati lower and ARH 1-7/8 headers AND 3.73 gears from Van. I am doing both at once lol
No daily driver and mods, definitely need drag radials and then gears! Gears will help save your clutch BUT I think you'll want/need something much stickier than the stock tires -J
Dang! 100% for gears so far... After thinking about it...the gears will give the "feel" of more power without raising PSI which adds more heat ect...thanks for the input guys...keep 'em coming! Scott
You are using 4.10's right? That might be overkill for me @700 to the ground lol... I hope you are right!! Which I am confident you will be... Scott
You must only drive in town. The GT500 owner's manual supplement recommends shifting into 6th gear at 43MPH. LOL!!! Those recommended shift points crack me up.
Yeah you can't get any power out of it if you shift into 6th before 60mph!! Even then it shudders till about 70mph!!
Not with 4.10s, and parking lots and rolling stops are 2nd. My girlfriend thought it was an improvement (wife didn't notice ;-) ) -J
