What is the BEST rear combo with OEM brakes? I have heard there is a 17" wheel that fits...that true? Be specific if possible...wheel specs, tire size etc.. Thanks!! Scott
Lol this probably isn't going to help sell your car. But I am also interested to know what fits I'm looking to pick up a set of rears as well.
Direct bolt no issues is the Racestar/Darkstar 18x10.5 and 325/40/18 M&H 28" or the 315/40/18 NT05R, those are the only 2 tires I have experience with, the 18" MT ET Street IIs should work too. 17x10" Weld RTS work but I believe need a small spacer. -J
Sit flush, don't stick out, I'm on 'dead hooker' springs but almost stock height, just under. Bought the Darkstar package from Beefcake racing, the RTS take a few weeks and less than 1# difference with same sizes. -J
I'm curious to. How about the americanmuscle replica wheels? They come in 18" I just don't know how much they weigh, I'd like a lightweight wheel also.
Great I still remember your posts. Thanks for the clarification. I'm really trying to find a 27-28" front runner radial, I dont like the 26s everyone makes. Do you have any pics of the fronts with the spacer? How much does it stick out? -J
I don't actually have the fronts. I am going by what others have been found out. Actually some have been able to do the fronts without spacers & some have needed them. I, like you have been looking for a 28" front runner as the 26's look way too small in the wheel well. Yes, good pic. Looking for a radial but after bending 3" ARP rear wheel studs on 20" NT05Rs, I'm really wanting a bias-ply rear and can match that with the front bias ply 28" M&H above. Only 17" slick is a NON-DOT Hoosier 27x10x17", anyone know other options? I'm looking into if I can get a 16" wheel to fit over 13" rear brakes (I have 9" ends and that opens lots of options, currently Moser adapter to keep OEM brakes with the 9" ends) -J
