I dont really care for this dude but he did give a pretty detailed in-depth review of the new Supra and pointed out a lot of things that would be an absolute deal-breaker for me.

Im a die hard Supra fan and for one the whole BMW thing just ruins it for me smh. Not to mention not being able to drive with the windows down without being caught in a small Tornado also kills it for me cause I roll with my windows down almost always in the summer time.

And the placement of the infotainment system sounds dumb if there is a glare every time u look at it.

My uncle has one and his biggest complaint is that wind buffeting thing with the windows down. He's crafty, though, so he's devising his own trim piece to span between the the exterior of the sail panel to the mirror in hopes that will alleviate some of it. The interior didn't impress me overall, but then again I've never really cared about interiors all that much. I mean, if I can survive with a 2003 Ford interior, I could handle just about anything. lol

I've hated that car since Toyota/BMW revealed it.

I do a good amount of AutoX racing... there was a new ‘21 on a good set of tires that was completely flying!!!! Obviously it was as much the driver as anything, but it was very impressive!

Do yourself a favor and drive one of these, it was a awesome experience. And, the fact that they can be had for sub 50's and tuned to 450whp is impressive.

I get why Toyota used BMW to help get this car to market, but BMW having so much influence on this car is a tough pill for me. Also, if i cant roll down the windows, its a no deal. I bet if the rear quarter windows could pop open, that might solve the issue.

I dunno. These cars look a little “downsy” to me. I’m sure it’s a decent performer, but so are some ugly chicks.

AMS had one at the track that was decently modded last time I was out there...ran mid/low 12's with full bolt on's and tune. A good alternative for the GT mustang crowd but nothing exciting. Didn't like the sound of it and I thought it was pretty ugly in person. Toyota had such a huge chance to come out guns blazing with the supra and really missed it.

In that price range I would pick any of the 3 domestics fully loaded over it (challenger, camaro, mustang)...hell a lightly used hellcat is cheaper which would devour that thing in a straight line. Or a used gt350 which would out handle it.

That wind buffering issue is huge to most people. Hard to believe the Japanese would miss that, had to be the germans fault...lol.

As mentioned, it's a BMW with a Toyota body kit.

Infotainment system is BMW (and requires subscription for Carplay)

Wheels are BMW pattern and held on with bolts.

ZF 8spd only, no manual or DCT options even though both are found in the Z4

    Dash and interior is BMW

Despite being an Inline-6, the engine bay is a BMW cluster **** to work on.

    Overall, I don't get it.

Toyota is in the top 3 largest automakers in the world and can't develop a sports car? They already have all the parts needed - various RWD Lexus chassis, BRZ chassis.

Why not strip out the fat RC-F and cram a V6-TT into it.

    That's a slow time.
Car and driver did 12.3 a year ago. I roll raced one with my 2018 gt and it was very close.

It's all about perspective. If you go from driving a tugboat to a Supra, it's going to feel wonderful. If you go from driving a *insert similarly priced performance car* to a Supra, you're better equipped at identifying the pros and cons. I'll likely get a chance to drive my uncle's at some point once the "new" factor has worn off so I'll reserve my judgement until then.

I don't mind the way it looks in person although white would not have been my first choice on this car. Roadster-esque with the long, bulbous hood and stubby cockpit/rear. Exhaust had a note to it that was different enough that it drew my attention, but mostly because I couldn't begin to identify the vehicle based on the sound (unlike a 4-v 4.6, 5.0, 5.2 that we can all probably nail from a mile away). As it sat in my driveway and we stood around it BSing, a number of people driving by stared at it. Another feature my uncle dislikes (the attention it gets). Would I buy one? Probably not. Like Arabian said, I'd rather have an 18+ 5.0, gently used GT350, or maybe even a ZL-1. Pick your poison I suppose.

I did like the paul walker orange one my dealer had that didn’t last a week. I’m not sure if that was a stock color though.

Did it have the goofy graphic on the sides too? I could have skipped all that. Along with the underbody lights and the rest of the Autozone parts bin flare that went on everything in the first two movies.

That's not too bad. It needs different wheels to really make it jive (in my opinion). They've got a limited edition blue one that looks pretty tits too.

There is something to be said for a small car and the dynamics by which they perform/handle/level of agility.

I think the Supra is overpriced and not all that great looking (pure opinion, obviously) but if they offered the car with a silky Japanese or Euro 6 speed manual, i'd have a hard time not taking a serious look.

Saw one at the range, not a fan.

Seems like they are trying to cash in on the name without building a car to match.

I think they completely dropped the ball on this one. The 93-98 had a timeless look. They should have started there and modernized. I really had high hopes when the rumors started about it but in my eyes it's a flop. JMHO.
